ViewLux Roof Replacement & Installation in Hialeah: What to Know First

We provide independent ViewLux roof replacement and installation across Hialeah, with most skylight and roof-window work finished in one to two visits, depending on what we find when we open the opening. A typical ViewLux roof window replacement in Hialeah runs between $900 and $2,400 installed, while full roof window systems with flashing kits and interior finishing land between $2,800 and $6,500. We are not a ViewLux dealer and we have no factory affiliation, so the quote you get from us reflects the actual condition of your opening, not a manufacturer’s suggested retail price. This page is written for homeowners who already own ViewLux products, have lived with them long enough to know their habits, and want someone who will tell them straight whether to repair or replace. If you have a ViewLux roof window or skylight that is leaking, binding, or fogging, call (386) 977-5410 and we will walk you through what we are likely to find before we ever set foot on your roof.

How ViewLux Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

ViewLux builds a decent mid-tier roof window, but after enough Hialeah summers, certain failure patterns repeat themselves. Here is what we see most often and what we actually do about it.

  • Flashing failure at the curb mount on ViewLux VR series units. The VR line uses a stepped aluminum flashing kit that works fine in dry climates but struggles under Miami-Dade’s daily thermal swing. The aluminum expands and contracts at a different rate than the tile or shingle surrounding it, which eventually breaks the sealant bond and lets water track down the curb. We remove the old flashing, inspect the curb for rot, rebuild the curb if needed, and set the new flashing in a continuous polyurethane sealant bed that moves with the roof instead of fighting it.
  • Gear-driven operator wear on ViewLux electric roof windows. The electric operator on ViewLux roof windows uses a nylon drive gear that strips after about six to eight years of regular use in humid, salt-heavy air. The window still opens, but it skips and grinds, and eventually it will not close tight enough to seal. We replace the operator assembly with either an original ViewLux part or a machined-metal aftermarket gear set that lasts longer in this climate, whichever you choose after we lay out the price difference on paper.
  • Condensation between panes on the ViewLux VS fixed skylight. Hialeah’s humidity is hard on insulated glass, and the VS series is no exception. When the edge seal fails, you get moisture between the panes that no wiping will remove. The glass is still holding, but the insulating value is gone and the view is fogged. We replace the glass unit, not the whole frame, on most VS installs, which saves six to eight hundred dollars over a complete unit replacement.
  • Interior finish rot at the reveal on ViewLux roof windows installed before 2012. Older ViewLux units shipped with a pine reveal that was never rated for sustained exposure to a poorly ventilated chase. Once the roof window leaks even slightly at the flashing, that reveal soaks up water and starts to rot from the inside. We pull the reveal, check the rough opening for framing damage, and if the structure is sound, we refit with PVC reveals that will not absorb water, then re-trim and seal the interior.
  • Wrong-size installs from the original builder. This is not a ViewLux defect, it is a contractor shortcut we see frequently in older Hialeah homes: the original installer set a standard-size unit into an undersized rough opening and packed the gaps with shims and caulk. The window works for a few years, then the seal fails and the unit binds. We measure the actual rough opening, not the old glass, before we order anything. If the opening is not square, we reframe it. That is the only way a ViewLux unit will ever sit true.

Our ViewLux Roof Replacement & Installation Process

Here is how a ViewLux job goes from your first call to the final inspection, without surprises in between.

  1. 1
Call and describe what you are seeing. A live person answers at (386) 977-5410, any hour. Tell us the symptom: leak, fog, binding, noise. We will ask about the roof material and the approximate age of the unit, and we will give you an honest range over the phone before anyone schedules a visit.
  2. 2
On-site inspection and rough opening check. We come out, get on the roof, and inspect the flashing, curb, frame, and glass. We measure the rough opening, not just the existing unit, because that is where most ViewLux failures actually start.
  3. 3
Parts and price decision on paper. We quote OEM ViewLux parts and quality aftermarket alternatives side by side, with prices, so you see exactly what you are paying for and what you are getting. No change orders later.
  4. 4
The install. We remove the old unit, repair or rebuild the curb if it needs it, set the new window square in the opening, flash it properly, and seal it against Hialeah’s rain and heat. Uniformed, background-checked technicians on every job. We measure twice, as Dale Kessler learned from his father working on garage door frames off West 49th Street before the trade ever had a name for itself.
  5. 5
Water test and cleanup. We run water over the flashing and seals before we leave the roof, then clean the interior and haul off the old unit. You will not find roof debris left behind.
  6. 6
Warranty registration before we leave. Both manufacturer warranty layers are registered in writing, with durations stated, before the truck pulls out of your driveway. That is The Keystone Standard, and we have never made a homeowner chase a warranty on their own.

What ViewLux Roof Replacement & Installation Costs in Hialeah

ViewLux work is priced on what we find, and we do not pad the number hoping you will not compare. If the opening is square, the curb is sound, and the flashing is reusable, a straightforward replacement is a one-day job with no drama. If the curb has rot, the rough opening was never framed right, or the chase needs re-flashing, the price moves accordingly, and you will know the number before we order a single part.

  • ViewLux glass unit replacement only (VS fixed skylight): $850-$1,300
  • ViewLux VR series curb-mounted roof window replacement, same-size opening: $1,200-$2,400
  • ViewLux electric roof window replacement with new operator assembly: $2,200-$3,800
  • Full ViewLux roof window system with new flashing kit and interior reveal: $3,500-$6,500
  • Rough opening reframing (when the original install was out of square): $600-$1,800 added to the unit price

Senior and veteran homeowners receive 5% off every ViewLux job, and any repair over $250 qualifies for $50 off. Call (386) 977-5410 for a free estimate. We will put the price in writing, not over the phone.

Why Hialeah Homeowners Call TruePane Windows & Doors for ViewLux Work

We have been serving Hialeah and the surrounding communities since 2008 through the shop Dale Kessler founded in 2008, and the reason homeowners keep our number is simple: we register both warranty layers in writing before we leave, and if a job is not done right, we make it right within 90 days with no paperwork fights. No fine print that covers neither. We are also an authorized installer for more than a dozen other manufacturer lines, including PGT, CGI, CWS, and ES Windows, so if your ViewLux unit is beyond saving, we will quote you a comparable alternative from a brand we actually stand behind, side by side on paper, and you decide. We hire local, train apprentices into journeymen, and act like a company that plans to be in Hialeah in thirty years, because that is exactly the plan.

RRonald P.
★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."
