Mr-Glass Window Installation: The Hialeah Owner’s Guide

We install Mr-Glass windows in Hialeah, and a full window installation typically runs $450-$950 per opening depending on size, frame condition, and impact rating. Most single-window installations are completed in one visit, and we carry Mr-Glass-compatible hardware and sealing components on the truck. The way most Hialeah homeowners find us is simple: the window won’t close flush anymore, there’s a draft coming through the frame, or the glass has fogged. That’s when the original install gets called into question, and someone has to take the frame apart to see what’s actually failing.

Which Mr-Glass Models This Applies To

Mr-Glass produced single-hung, horizontal slider, and fixed-picture units common in Hialeah homes built from the 1990s through the 2010s. Identification matters more than memory: look for the etched logo in the glass corner and a white or beige vinyl frame label, usually on the interior side near the sash rail. If the label is gone, measure the visible glass width and height to the nearest 1/16 inch and note whether the frame has a weep hole at the bottom.

On Mr-Glass specifically, the balance system is the compatibility trap. Older single-hungs used a block-and-tackle balance that’s no longer in production, and a generic spiral balance will not hold the sash at mid-height. We source OEM-spec balance replacements when the frame is sound, and we’re honest when a quality aftermarket sealed unit makes more sense than chasing a discontinued sash. Hialeah’s coastal air punishes aftermarket parts that skip the laminated interlayer, so we don’t install budget equivalents on the windward side of the house.

TruePane is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with Mr-Glass. We work on their windows alongside PGT, CGI, and CWS units every month.

Signs Your Mr-Glass Window Installation Is Failing

  • Sash drops when opened or won’t stay up. The balance system has lost tension. On Mr-Glass units from the 2000s, this is usually the block-and-tackle balance wearing out, not a broken spring.
  • Visible light between the sash and frame when closed. The weatherstripping has compressed or the sash has shifted out of square. Air, rain, and bugs find that gap before you do.
  • Condensation or haze between the glass panes. The sealed unit has failed. In Hialeah’s humidity, a broken seal turns into permanent fog within a season and cannot be cleaned from the outside.
  • The window is hard to open from the closed position. Frame swelling from moisture or a misaligned track. Aluminum-reinforced frames resist this better, but vinyl frames from the early 2000s move more than owners expect.
  • Water stains on the interior sill after heavy rain. The perimeter seal or the weep system has failed. We see this often on west-facing Hialeah walls where afternoon storms drive rain horizontal.

If the opening isn’t square, nothing else matters. That’s the first thing we check on any Mr-Glass window that’s giving an owner trouble, because a bowed frame will destroy a brand-new balance in six months no matter what part goes in.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what we quote for Mr-Glass window installation work in Hialeah:

  • Balance or hardware replacement: $180-$320 per window, parts and labor included
  • Weatherstripping and seal rehabilitation: $120-$240 per window
  • Insulated glass unit replacement: $350-$650 per sash, depending on size and coating
  • Full window replacement and installation: $450-$950 per opening, based on impact rating and frame size

Every quote is line-itemed in writing before work starts. The price we quote is the price on the bill. If we open the wall and find rot or termite damage in the rough opening, we stop, show you what we found, and give you a written price for the correction before we touch anything else. Both manufacturer warranty layers get registered in writing before the truck leaves your driveway, and our Done Right Promise covers the workmanship. No paperwork fights, no arguing. If it’s not done right, we make it right.

Seniors and veterans get a standing 5% discount on every job, and we honor a $50 discount on repairs over $250. A live person answers the phone at (386) 977-5410, any hour, any day.

DIY or Call Us?

There’s safe work here, and there’s work that needs a glazier. What you can do yourself: clean the tracks with a dry brush, check for loose screws on the sash lock, and look for obvious gaps where the weatherstripping has pulled away. That’s the inspection half. What you should not do on a Mr-Glass unit is try to remove the sash to access the balance yourself. Those balances hold tension, and a released block-and-tackle will take skin off a hand before you know it. Leave it to someone who’s done a few hundred of them.

We’ve been called out to Hialeah homes where a well-meaning owner removed the sash, couldn’t get it back in, and spent a weekend fighting the track. By the time we arrive, the frame’s gouged and the part they ordered online doesn’t match. That’s a $180 job turned into a $400 job. If you’re not sure what’s failing, call (386) 977-5410 and describe the symptom. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s worth a service call.

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."

GGene A.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."

RRonald P.
★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."
